ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart London

Flight Heathrow to Kochi.

Day 2: Kochi

Arrive in Kochi. You will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Heralded as the Queen of Arabian Sea, Kochi was an important spice trading centre on the Arabian Sea coast since the 14th century and was the site of the first European colonial settlement in India and remained until 1530.
Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 3: KOCHI - MUNNAR (B/-/-)

Drive to Munnar (118 km / 3.5 hrs approx). This beautiful hill station is popular for its cool climate, tea plantations with colonial bungalows, tea factories, Wildlife sanctuaries and many lakes. Arrive Munnar and check in to your hotel and relax.
Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 4: MUNNAR (B/-/-)

Proceed for half day city tour visiting the Mattupetty Dam: The beautiful hill station of Mattupetty is a 13 km drive away from Munnar. The Mattupetty Lake and Dam is en-route to Top Station and is situated at an altitude of 1700 m. Enjoy the panoramic view of the dam surrounded by wooden hills and tea plantations. Later visit the Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala Lake… the mountain slopes here are thick with undulating, evergreen tea plantations. Here you can view the entire process of making tea, right from plucking of tea leaves to their processing.

Day 5: MUNNAR - KUMARAKOM (B/-/-)

Drive to Kumarakom (157 km / 4 ½ hrsapprox). Arrive Kumarakom and check in to your hotel and relax. Kumarakom is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam in Kerala, India, famous for its backwater tourism. It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in the state of Kerala. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6: KUMARAKOM (B/-/-)

Proceed for a tour of Kumarakom bird sanctuary. An ornithologist's paradise, the sanctuary is spread over 14 acres and is the favourite haunt of local birds like Waterfowl, Cuckoo, Owls, Egrets, and Wood Beetle. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 7: ALLEPPEY (B/L/-)

Drive to Alleppey (35 km / 1. hr approx). Arrive Alleppey and board your houseboat. Alleppey, "Venice of the East" has a large network of backwater canals that meander through the town and surrounding villages.

Day 8: ALLEPPEY - KOCHI (B/-/-)

Drive to Kochi (53 km / 2 hrs approx). Arrive Kochi and check in to the hotel. Proceed for a half-day tour of Kochi. Visit Fort Kochi… walk to the church of St Francis, the oldest European-built church in the country. Continue with a visit to Mattancherry, where you will visit the historic synagogue in the Jewish Quarter. You will also visit the Mattancherry or Dutch Palace, with its fine collection of mural paintings depicting scenes from the Hindu epics. Thereafter, drive past the amazing Chinese Fishing Nets. Also, drive past Willingdon Island. In the evening, witness a Kathakali dance performance. The style dates back to the seventeenth century and is deeply rooted in mythology.

Day 9: DEPARTURE (B/-/-)

Proceed to the airport to board the flight to London Heathrow.
