ITINERARY

D1: UK to Delhi

D2: Delhi

On arrival, you will be met by our representative at the airport and transfer to your hotel.

D3: Delhi (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel and proceed for a City tour of Old Delhi. Arrive at the steps of Jama Masjid, known as the final architectural extravagance of ShahJahan, with a courtyard capable of holding 25000 devotees. From here, enjoy a rickshaw ride atChandni Chowk, winding through the tangled lanes past tiny shops crammed with spices and trinkets.Later, drive past the magnificent 17th century Red Fort finally stop at Raj Ghat, the cremation ground of Mahatma Gandhi. Afternoon: Visit New Delhi: Photo stop at India Gate, the 42-metre-high, free-standing arch, designed by Lutyens, built in 1931, is dedicated to 90,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died in World War I. Drive past the Presidential building, the official residence of President of India. Visit the very interesting Bangla Sahib.
Sikh temple known for its huge community kitchen which daily serve food to thousands of devotees. Explore the 16th Century Humayun’s Tomb , built in 1570, and is of cultural significance being the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. It inspired several major architectural innovations, culminating in the construction of the Taj Mahal. Visit the 72.5-meter Qutab Minar. The ensemble of mosques, minars, and other structures in the Qutb Minar complex is an outstanding testimony to the architectural and artistic achievements of Islamic rulers after they first established their power in the Indian subcontinent in the 12th century. We will drive past Kotla Firoze Shah, ruins of an old fort of the 14th century, past the magnificent Red Fort (closed on Mondays) and Jama Masjid. Visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated in 1948. In the afternoon, we will drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati, the impressive Rajpath to the World War I memorial arch, the India Gate, and then we will visit the Qutub Minar, the 72-meter-high Minaret.
Return back to the hotel and overnight.

D4: DELHI TO AGRA (B/-/-) (225 km/APPROX. 3.5 hrs)

Breakfast at hotel and then leave for Agra by road, en route Mathura (225 Km/ Approx. 3.5 Hours from the Yamuna Expressway). Mathura is believed to be the birthplace of Krishna which is located in the centre of Braj or Brij-Bhoomi, called Shri Krishna Janma-Bhoomi, literally: 'Lord Krishna's birthplace' (Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi). Arrive Agra and check in to the hotel.
In the afternoon, start your city tour of Agra – Visit Agra Fort - behind its forbidding red sandstone battlements lie palaces that tell the story of the Moghul Empire. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest Mughal forts in India. Built in the 11th century, an era marked by invasions and battles, this red stone-fortified castle was the site of the India Rebellion of 1857. Visit Taj Mahal by Sunset. (Closed on Fridays). Taj Mahal is living example of greatest love story ever told. On the death of hi s beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, in wild extravagance, Mughal emperor Shahjahan built her this memorial. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this wealth of white marble and precious stone.

D5: AGRA – FATEHPUR SIKRI – JAIPUR (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Leave for Jaipur by road. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri - 37 km west of Agra lies the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri - an epic poem in red sandstone, built by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1569 and deserted 14 years later because its watersupply failed.
Continue drive to Jaipur (207 km/ approx. 4 hrs). On arrival, proceed to your hotel for check in.

D6: Jaipur (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Morning: Excursion to Amber fort. Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace. The rugged, time ravaged walls of the Fort are beautiful outside as well as inside. Miniatures painted on the walls depict hunting, war scenes and also festivals. Precious stones and mirrors are embedded into the plaster. Inside the Jag Mandir is the famed Sheesh Mahal - a room with all the four walls and ceiling completely embedded with glittering mirror pieces, imported from Belgium during that period.
En route to Amber Fort ,you will have a brief photography stop at Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds to admire its unique architecture.
Afternoon: Visit Maharaja's City Palace, the former Royal residence, part of which is converted into a museum. A small portion is still used by the Royal family of Jaipur. Built in the style of a fortified campus, the city palace is a major attraction to tourists. Amongst various sections, the best known is the armoury museum housing an impressive array of weaponry-pistols, blunderbusses, flintlocks, swords, rifles and daggers. The royal families of Jaipur once used most of these weapons. Later visit the Jantar Mantar , the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world. Situated near the gate of the city palace the observatory has 17 large instruments, many of them still in working condition.

Drive to Delhi (300 km / 05 hrs approx).
Arrive & Check into the hotel. The rest of the day at lesiure.

D8: Delhi - Haridwar (B/-/-)

In the early morning, you will be transferred to the railway station.
At 06:45: Board train 12017 Dehradun Shatabdi Express to Haridwar.
Arrive Haridwar at 11:25 and you will be transferred to the hotel.
Later visit Mansa Devi temple which is an ancient temple that attracts people from both far and near due to its significance. The temple is considered a must visit for the pilgrims going to Haridwar. Visit Chandi Devi Temple, Goddess Chandi also known as Chandika is the presiding deity of the temple. The story of the origin of Chandika is as follows: Long time ago, the demon kings Shumbha and Nishumbha had captured the kingdom of the god-king of heaven - Indra and thrown the gods from Swarga (heaven). Visit Maya Devi Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Maya in the holy city of Haridwar of Uttarakhand state in India. Evening proceeds for Ganga Aarti at Holly river Ganges.

D9: HARIDWAR - RISHIKESH – HARIDWAR (B/-/-)

Breakfast at hotel. City tour of Haridwar.
Visit Temples Bharat Mata Temple, which is also known as Mother India Temple, is one of the most visited temples located in Haridwar. The temple is dedicated to Bharat Mata by her devoted patriotic nationals. This religious shrine was founded by Swami Satyamitranand Giri. Satya Narayan Temple, Shree Satyanarayan Mandir is the ancient temples of Shree Satyanarayan Bhagwan.
Drive to Rishikesh (one way 25 kms / Approx. 1 hrs)
Arrive Rishikesh & proceed to visit Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula & Janaki Setu Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram.
Later return back to Haridwar.

D10: HARIDWAR - DELI - UK (B/-/-)

In the early morning, you will be transferred to the railway station.
Board the train 12056 NDLS Jan Shatabdi at 06:25, and you will arrive in Delhi at 11:10.
Arrive Delhi and transfer to the airport to take your flight to the UK.
