ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart from London

Heathrow for the flight to Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi

Arrive Delhi. You will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: SIGHTSEEING OF OLD & NEW DELHI (B)

This morning after breakfast,Visit Old Delhi Old Delhi: Arrive at the steps of Jama Masjid, known as the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan, with a courtyard capable of holding 25000 devotees. From here, enjoy a rickshaw ride at Chandni Chowk, winding through the tangled lanes past tiny shops crammed with spices and trinkets. Later, drive past the magnificent 17th century Red Fort finally stop at Raj Ghat, the cremation ground of Mahatma Gandhi.
Afternoon: Visit New Delhi
New Delhi: Photo stop at India Gate, the 42-metre-high, free-standing arch, designed by Lutyens, built in 1931, is dedicated to 90,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died in World War I. Drive past the Presidential building, the official residence of President of India. Visit the very interesting Bangla Sahib Sikh temple known for its huge community kitchen which daily serve food to thousands of devotees.
Explore the 16th Century Humayun’s Tomb, built in 1570, and is of cultural significance being the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. It inspired several major architectural innovations, culminating in the construction of the Taj Mahal. Visit the 72.5-meter Qutab Minar. The ensemble of mosques, minars, and other structures in the Qutb Minar complex is an outstanding testimony to the architectural and artistic achievements of Islamic rulers after they first established their power in the Indian subcontinent in the 12th century. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 4: DELHI - AGRA (235 KMS/ APPROXIMATELY 3.5 HRS DRIVE) (B)

This morning proceeds to Agra via the Express way. On arrival in Agra, check-in your hotel. Later proceed for Half Day City tour of Agra. Visit the Red Fort, which was commissioned in 1565 by Akbar. The beautiful yet forbidding structure is a handsome example of Mughal architecture. Later, visit the Taj Mahal … a mausoleum built as a symbol of Emperor Shah Jehan’s devotion to his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. Considered an architectural marvel, its construction took thousands of workers over 21 years to complete. Visit Taj Mahal by Sunset. Taj Mahal is living example of greatest love story ever told. On the death of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, in wild extravagance, Mughal emperor Shahjehan built her this memorial. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this wealth of white marble and precious stone.
Stay overnight at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Agra or Similar.

Day 5: AGRA - BHARATPUR – RANTHAMBORE (B,L,D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning: Drive to the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri for a visit. An epic poem in red sandstone, the city was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and deserted 14 years later because its water supply failed. Lunch included at a local restaurant before transfer to train station.
Later, transfer to Bharatpur train station in time for your train to Sawai Madhopur. Your main luggage can remain the car and the driver will hand this over to you late evening at your resort in Ranthambore. This will make the train journey easy.
15:40 hrs: Depart by 12060 Kota Jan Shatabdi Express Airconditioned chair car. 18:02 hrs: Arrive Sawai Madhopur where you will be met for your transfer to your resort in Ranthambore.

Day 6: GAME DRIVE IN RANTHAMBORE (B,L,D)

Today early morning & late afternoon safari in Ranthambore National Park by shared Jeeps. Ranthambhore National Park was the hunting ground for the Maharajahs of Jaipur before India’s independence in 1947. The Park is one of the finest tiger reserves in the country under the Project Tiger. The majestic predators, assured of protection, roam freely during the daytime and can be seen at close quarters. Ranthambore sanctuary has a large number of fauna, significant among those being sambhar, chital, nilgai, chinkara, langur, wild boar, peafowl and of course the King of the Jungle- the Great Indian Tiger. A system of three artificial lakes-Padam Talab, Rajbagh and Milak Talab, are part of the biosphere. Besides enhancing the scenic beauty of the park, they are an important source of water for the inhabitants of the park. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: RANTHAMBORE – JAIPUR (190 KM / 4 HRS APPROX). (B,L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Relax at the hotel or visit the UNESCO Ranthambore fort for its spectacular views of the national park. Built by the Chauhan rulers in the 10th century, it was ideal to keep the enemy at bay. The fort is characterised by temples, tanks, massive gates, and huge walls. Lord Ganesha temple in the complex is popular with the locals.
The visit to the temple can be arranged on direct payment via our office in Ranthambore or the resort of stay.
Afternoon: After lunch, drive to Jaipur, on arrival, proceed to your hotel. Check in 14:00 hrs. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities.

Day 8: JAIPUR (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning: Excursion to Amber fort. Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace. The rugged, time-ravaged walls of the Fort are beautiful outside as well as inside. Miniatures painted on the walls depict hunting, war scenes and festivals. Precious stones and mirrors are embedded into the plaster. Inside the Jag Mandir is the famed Sheesh Mahal - a room with all the four walls and ceiling completely embedded with glittering mirror pieces, imported from Belgium during that period. En route to Amber Fort, you will have a brief photography stop at Hawa Mahal - the Palace of Winds to admire its unique architecture.
Afternoon: Visit Maharaja's City Palace, the former Royal residence, part of which is converted into a museum. A small portion is still used by the Royal family of Jaipur. Built in the style of a fortified campus, the city palace is a major attraction to tourists. Amongst various sections, the best known is the armoury museum housing an impressive array of weaponry-pistols, blunderbusses, flintlocks, swords, rifles, and daggers. The royal families of Jaipur once used most of these weapons. Later visit the Jantar Mantar, the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world. Situated near the gate of the city palace the observatory has 17 large instruments, many of them still in working condition.

Day 9: JAIPUR – DELHI (260 KM / 6 HRS APPROX). (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to Delhi. On arrival, proceed to your hotel for check in. Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities

Day 10: DELHI – LONDON (B)
