ITINERARY
Day 1: Depart London
Flight Heathrow to Cochin.
Day 2: Cochin
Arrive in Cochin. You will be met, assisted, and transferred to your hotel. Cochin in the beautiful southern state of Kerala - fondly called "God's own Country". Heralded as the Queen of Arabian Sea, This Arabian seaport, now known as Kochi, was at the centre of the spice trade since the 14th century and was the site of the first European colonial settlement in India and remained until 1530.

Day 3: cochin city tour (B/-/-)
This morning enjoy a city tour of Cochin - an important trading centre to the ancient Greeks, Romans, Jews, Arabs and Chinese. The Portuguese established the first European settlement in India here and the city was later colonised by the Dutch and then the British.
Visit St. Francis Church and where explorer Vasco da Gama was first buried, the Jewish Synagogue and Mattancherry Palace (also known as Dutch Palace) in Jew Town, with its ancient murals depicting scenes from Hindu legends surrounding the gods Shiva, Vishnu and Krishna. We will also walk to see the Spice Market, old Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi operated by a team of up to six fishermen. Overnight stay in Cochin.
Day 4: Drive to Munnar (130 Kms / Approx. 4 hrs drive) (B/-/-)
Today morning check out from the hotel, and we drive for 4-hours up steep winding roads to the scenic hill station at Munnar with its vast tea plantations. After checking into your hotel, relax in the clear mountain air of this beautiful summer resort. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 5: MUNNAR Sightseeing (B/-/-)
Today morning visit Tea Plantation and Tea Museum, Mattuppetty Dam and Echo Point. Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats Mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Eravikulam National Park (Closed from Feb – Mar) a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr and trails of 2,695 mt to Anamudi Peak. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 6: DRIVE TO PERIYAR + KALARIPPAYATTU SHOW (APPROX 100 KMS / 3.5 HRS DRIVE) (B/-/-)
This morning drive 3.5 hours down from the hills of Munnar and continue through coffee and pepper plantations to Periyar National Park in the Western Ghats mountains. Situated in the Cardamom and Pandalam Hills, this park forms the watershed for two important rivers - the Periyar and Pamba. It is home to several rare and endangered species including tigers, although they are rarely seen.
Later in the evening enjoy Kalarippayattu (Martial Arts show). Overnight stay in Periyar.
Day 7: Periyar Nature Walk + Spice Plantation Tour (B/L/-)
Today morning proceed for boat ride on Lake Periyar to view wildlife at close quarters from the safety of your boat. (Subject to state rules and regulations). Later return to the hotel for breakfast. Later proceed for a Spice Plantation tour accompanied by a Naturalist. Overnight stay at Periyar.
Day 8: Drive Periyar – Alleppey Houseboat (140 Kms / Approx. 3.5 hrs drive) (B/-/-)
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, drive to Alleppey. Arrive and check-in at the houseboat. Enjoy a cruise on the backwaters with lunch and dinner on board. Overnight stay at Houseboat.
Day 9: Drive Alleppey – Kumarakom Backwaters (35 Kms / Approx 1 hr drive) (B/-/-)
Breakfast on the houseboat. After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Arrive and check-in at the hotel. Kumarakom is a village on Vembanad Lake in the backwaters of Kerala, southern India. It’s laced with canals, where houseboats ply the waters. Rest of the day is free for personal activity / explore. Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
Day 10: DRIVE KUMARAKOM – KOVALAM BEACH (180KMS / APPROX. 4.5 HRS DRIVE) (B/-/-)
After breakfast checkout and transfer 5-hours to Kovalam (meaning "a grove of coconut trees"). Check into your beach hotel and relax on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay at Kovalam.
Day 11: Day trip to Kanyakumari & Trivandrum (2 hrs drive one way) (B/-/-)
at the hotel and proceed on a day trip to Kanyakumari - The southernmost tip of the mainland of India. Three major Oceans – The Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean – converge right here.
Enroute visit (from outside) the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum. The Padmanabhaswamy temple is a Hindu temple A blend of Kerala and Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is noted for its mural paintings and stone carvings. One among the 108 sacred Vishnu temples in India.
On arrival at Kanyakumari visit Suchindram Temple - The striking aspect of this temple is that it is dedicated to the Trinity of God, Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. Gandhi Memorial Mandapam - On the shores of the sea nestles a living memorial for India’s greatest son. It showcases the life and teachings of the Mahatma. Vivekananda Rock Memorial - Amid the soothing sea breeze and dancing waves is a rock, so enigmatic and elegant. It’s a tribute to India’s greatest monk who took this land’s spiritual brilliance to the world. The Vivekananda Rock Memorial is as timeless as the sage himself. Enjoy the sunset on Kanyakumari beach. Evening return to the hotel and overnight stay at Kovalam.
Day 12: Day free for Leisure at Kovalam (B/-/-)
At leisure to relax at your resort in quiet Kovalam on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Overnight stay at Kovalam.
Day 13: DEPARTURE (B/-/-)
Proceed to the airport to board the flight to London Heathrow.
